Summer time

Tomorrow my niece, Carissa, turns 11.  Who would have thought that this last year would have flown by so quickly.  It has been a while since I last posted, and life has taken me far from where I was this last January.  Most noticably in my geography: I moved from Central Ohio back to Wisconsin.  Most specifically, Northern Wisconsin to work at Fort Wilderness in their Kitchen this summer.

It has been a great adjustment.  I made the move at the end of May, and quickly found myself surrounded by a group of wonderful people in the North woods of Wisconsin.  Sure, my days start earlier than I would prefer, and the work is hard and sometimes very hot and humid, but I wouldn't trade the experiences that I am gathering for anything.

The Lord has proved his faithfulness to me over and over again.  I am currently working on being at peace with where I am.  The Lord knows what he has in store for me this fall, and he will reveal it to me as the time comes.  I know I have a family that loves me and is ready to welcome me into their home, should the need arise.  God has been so good.

I am sitting right now in the "Campgrounds" the coffee shop, sipping on my "Hot-sweet-milk," my favorite drink to get.  A steamer with a 1/2 shot of syrup: 1/4 Caramel, 1/4 Hazelnut.  We successfully served over 200 people barbeque chicken for dinner, with beans and potatoes with bacon and coleslaw.  Tomorrow morning we are making pancakes.  Every day is a new adventure in the Fort Kitchen.

Last night two of my friends and I sat up in my room talking well into the night.  It was a much needed time for all of us, and we got to know each other just a little better.  I love those kinds of evenings.  And apparently we will be having more of those soon.  I can't wait.

I may not know what I am doing after my contract for the summer is done, yet.  However, I am in a wonderful place right now, with wonderful people, being stretched and learning new skills that I can hopefully take into the workplace with me as I try to pursue the future that God has for me.

It is growing later, and I'm sleepy and must arise early tomorrow morning.  So I will bid you all goodnight, and sweet dreams.
